The City College of New York men's soccer team will face the No. 1 seeded College of Staten Island in the CUNYAC Finals on Saturday, November 7 at 4:30 p.m. The match will take place at College Field in Brooklyn, New York.
The Beavers earned their berth to the CUNYAC Finals by first defeating Hunter 1-0 in the Quarterfinals.
Anthony Scarallo scored the sole goal of the match off of a penalty shot. After that, City defeated Brooklyn 2-0 in the semifinals.
Clifford Leriche and
Mostafa Haridi tallied one goal a piece to push the Beavers into the Finals.
Earlier this season, CCNY fell 2-1 to the College of Staten Island.
Goalkeeper, Maxwell Berkow, ranks first in the conference in both save percentage (.800) and total saves (92). The team ranks first in the conference in shuout percentage (.29)CCNY was last in the finals in 2013 where they fell 1-0 in OT to Baruch. The Dolphins have not been in the finals since 2007 where they fell 3-0 to York. CCNY and Staten Island faced each other back in 2005 where the Beavers took the championship 3-2 in overtime.
